Good morning.
Today we’re diving into the world of Jazz with the remarkable tenor saxophonist, Joe Henderson. Born in Lima, Ohio, Henderson’s musical journey began in his teenage years and led him to become one of the leading American players of his day. This album, released in 1966, features Henderson along with pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Bob Cranshaw and drummer Elvin Jones.
We’re also featuring the work of McCoy Tyner, an American Jazz pianist and composer known for his work with the John Coltrane Quartet and his long solo career. His album “Manhattan Moods”, a collaboration with vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson, was released in 1994. It features nine duet performances by Hutcherson and Tyner.
Finally, we’re delving into the “Jazz Sketches Turntable #4” playlist. Here, I hope you can discover new Jazz tunes and artists, or simply enjoy a moment of good music.
